Sunset tonight will bring the final day of Elul. In that spirit, I want to share with you some verses from Psalm 146. We were made in God's image, we are therefore supposed to emulate God's actions, and here is what we are being told in this psalm:

God does justice for the oppressed, gives “bread” to the hungry, sets free the imprisoned, opens the eyes of the blind, raises up those who are bent, loves the righteous, guards/watches over the stranger, encourages the orphan and the widow.

And so should we all be doing. L'shana tova u'metuka! May we all have a good and a sweet year, far better than the one now ending.
